Crumb Memorial Library
Frederick W. Crumb Memorial Library opened in 1967 and is in the center of the SUNY Potsdam Campus. It was meant to central to every academic building and thus became the heart of the campus. It was only fitting to memorialize Dr. Frederick W. Crumb by naming the library after him, as Crumb was the heart of Potsdam for the previous 20 years.
The library was Crumb's special interest during his presidency and his attention and preoccupation with its development helped the collection to grow from 8,000 texts when he arrived in 1946 to over 110,000 volumes at the time of his death in 1967.
