I learned that the Women's Studies department was founded in 1992, under the direction of Anne Sisson Raymond. It branched out of the Politics Department, which I honestly didn't know prior to reading this article. The director at this time, Liliana Trevizan, says that she recommends Women's Studies courses to all students, and that many say it changed their lives and the way they look at the world. The top of the comic says "Hatching" in thick black letters, and underneath it: "An illustrated women's liberation diary," followed by four girls quite literally 'hatching' from an egg, with female symbols on their shirts, and raised fists...I think if I saw something similar to this comic in the next Racquette issue I pick up, I could be knocked over with a feather. It's so much more radical than anything I've seen the Racquette come close to.</text>
